When we feel depressed, we often look for solutions to help us. We ask friends and family for advice or search online, or the absolute worst: People giving us UNSOLICITED counseling, which can really make your blood boil!
There are so many “great advice” everywhere, that we end up with a diagnosis of “analysis-paralysis”.
But what constitutes “good advice” for one person, can be very bad advice for someone else!

Example: Let’s say you have a Band-Aid on, and would like to find out whether it is best to pull it off slowly, or just rip it off. The answer you receive, happens to be from someone who once skinned their knee, and back then, they had success with just ripping it off, so they well-meaningly tell you “the solution”, without asking about your particular situation. You take their “good advice” and rip off the bandage, that you unfortunately mislabeled in your eagerness to feel better, and inadvertently end up ripping open your surgical scar, with serious consequences to follow!

Your friend just meant you well, and you just wanted the fastest relief possible as you were in agonizing pain, but since there was no elaboration into what “IT” WAS ACTUALLY ABOUT, the quick-fix ended up causing long-term damage!
